PLEASE TAKE NOTE: We will be unable to send CDs or books to you after November 30, so SHOP EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS. (Our office manager has to be out of town most of December.)
Greetings, precious OFRH family –
Everything is in our Savior and Lord’s all-wise and loving control. We will be reminded of that as Dr. Fuller continues in the Book of Daniel this month. The theme will be for God’s followers to trust Him, especially during very difficult external circumstances, confident that He will accomplish His holy and eternal purposes. We’ll look at the blazing furnace which awaited God’s people who would not bow down to Nebuchadnezzar’s statue. How faithful God was to them! We’ll also continue to witness in the Book of Daniel and then in the Gospel of Matthew how God will work out His purposes for the future, despite how bleak and hopeless circumstances may appear to any human observers.
How do circumstances appear to you today? For several months now, I’ve had many opportunities to speak with believers in my office and elsewhere. Unfortunately, some have slipped into habitual fear because they’ve forgotten God’s promises. According to Peter, those promises are still “exceedingly great and precious,” dear saint. So, as we move into these uncertain days of November, remember that He is your security – not circumstances. Let us not pray from an ineffective position of fear: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Therefore, let us take courage as we fully lean on our Savior. And then be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be overcomers who pray for, lift up, and embolden those we meet who are fearful. Let us entreat the Lord for national revival during these strange days which invite (even demand) our total dependence and trust in the Living God.
Last month we received a 10-page letter from a prisoner in the state of Washington. Here are a few of his comments: “I really want you all to know that some of us who have gotten saved at younger ages, then strayed away from the way of faith and truth, have been the recipients of great mercy. And that the preaching of God’s Word in the manner of Bro. Fuller (and others) has greatly blessed and encouraged many, even me. It’s very edifying and refreshing to listen to OFRH and Bro. Fuller’s messages, knowing I’m going to hear words of truth and not some ear-tickling fad topic. It really blesses me to listen to these who teach and always keep the focus where it ought to be…on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel of grace.” He then asks for prayer for his wife and children.
His letter has prompted us to feature our choir CD, “Start Your Life Anew,” because although that man strayed away from the Lord and landed in prison, he returned to his Savior who has given him a fresh start. The CD’s price is $16.50 which includes shipping. Californians, please add $1.50 for tax. And remember to order in November if you want the CD in time for Christmas.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving Day,
