Dear, wonderful OFRH family –
This morning, a few days before Thanksgiving, I am thinking of you all as I seek God’s face while composing the December letter. Thanksgiving always brings to my mind the Pilgrims who endured a great deal of hardship as they sought to worship God freely. Dr. Fuller often reminded us that we are strangers and pilgrims here on this earth. And one of his very favorite songs by the quartet is “This World Is Not My Home.” Have you, this year, identified a little more readily with that statement?
And we now focus on Christmas and God’s precious Son coming the first time to make the way for all believers to anticipate being at home with the Lord. It’s a priceless Christmas gift He has lavishly offered to you and to me. Certainly it is a mercy of our Lord to help us see that gift even more clearly this year. Perhaps some of us have felt too much at home on this earth over much of our lives. Well, Jesus is coming a second time, and Dr. Fuller’s first message for December is “The Chief Shepherd Shall Appear.”
I trust your Christmas will be full of awareness about all that your Lord has accomplished for you. May His joy be hard to miss on your face – my, you’ll stand out in such contrast to the world around you. And may you be ready always to give an answer to every person who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you (see 1 Peter 3:15).
Let me share a few short (but encouraging and much-appreciated) comments from our listeners:
From New York: “At age 93, may God help me to age with heaven’s grace. Thank you for ministering to my spirit which has been more meaningful since I’m not able to be at church.”
From Georgia: “Thank you for your faithful efforts in making OFRH available online. They are a joy and a blessing! Being able to listen any day, any time is a boost and a balm to my soul.”
From Idaho: “I love the OFRH program! Hope truck drivers listen. Hope more send in gifts to keep this on the air. God bless you.”
Rather than featuring a CD this month, I thought I’d mention our one and only DVD, The Old Fashioned Meeting. It has three 30-minute TV programs from October of 1950, which indicates that Dr. Fuller was not afraid to try new technology in his day. Preserved on VHS, which means the DVD’s quality may disappoint you, but you’ll be able to see Dr. and Mrs. Fuller and many others who participated in the OFRH ministry 70 years ago. The price for the DVD is $18.00 – plus $1.80 tax if you live in California. And if possible, could you please include an end-of-the-year gift to help us finish the year in the black?
Thanking you for your fellowship in the gospel,
Michael Khanchalian, D.D.S.
