Greetings beloved OFRH listener,
As the Old Fashioned Revival Hour continues its journey through the Book of Genesis during August we shall witness Eve and then Adam falling prey to the lies of God’s enemy and their enemy. The Lord had provided a perfect and lovely environment for them with just one restriction. He’d said to Adam that he was not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil – that death would be the result. Well, the enemy’s approach (as usual) was to twist God’s words – lying, but using partial truths and appealing to their limited understanding. Satan does the same today, manipulating people, even Christians, not to trust God’s love and goodness on our behalf.
We are all vulnerable, dear friend. There are so many lies swirling around each of us these days as the enemy appears to be in hyperdrive. That’s why Dr. Fuller’s continual emphasis is that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). We may be prone to fear, anxiety, and all sorts of mental and emotional chaos if we allow the lies to “land and fester.” Instead, “let the peace of God rule in yours hearts…. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” while “holding every thought captive to obey Christ…” (see Colossians 3:15-16 and 2 Corinthians 10:5).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB). Rather than trying to find our way by using our own limited understanding, let us fill our minds with the promises in the Word of God. Many of the hymns and choruses you hear on the Old Fashioned Revival Hour are also full of the truths you want filling your mind and heart. And this month, to encourage you to walk by faith with your Savior, our featured CD is “Gospel Favorites, Volume 7.” It has 26 songs by the OFRH quartet and chorus choir for only $16.50 which includes shipping. For Californians, it’s $18.00 due to tax.
A lady in New York who ordered Volume 6 included this note: “Last month I ordered my first CD (Volume 5). Oh, how I enjoy it! The only thing was I kept expecting Rev. Fuller to start talking after each song or ask us to sing ‘Heavenly Sunshine.’ As long as I am able, I want to order each one!” Well, hearing from her was such a blessing to us that we just HAD to pass it along to you.
Hoping you are being blessed as well,
Michael Khanchalian, D.D.S.
