February 2019 Newsletter

Last month my comments centered on keeping our first love alive and kindled. As we head further into these last days, our Lord reminds us in Matthew 24 that, because of increasing wickedness, many people’s love will grow cold. On our upcoming programs, Dr. Fuller will continue teaching from Revelation, chapters 2 and 3 where the risen Lord Jesus addresses the churches in Pergamum, Thyatira, and Sardis. We will find in those letters additional warnings against wandering off into error. However, as we draw close to our Abba Father and discover ourselves truly nurtured by Him, we shall also be dissuaded from finding false security in so many artificial “gods” and “idols” swirling around us as society goes headlong after them. There is no genuine and enduring satisfaction except in Jesus, the Lover of your soul.

Oh, keep anchored in that Haven of Rest, beloved, because “There’s a Path Through the Darkness,” which is the first song (and title) for the OFRH quartet CD we’re featuring in February. The price is $16.50 which includes shipping. However, due to tax, for California residents the total is $18.00. The music we bring to listeners obviously “strikes a chord” with many. Here are some responses. From a lady in Portland, Oregon: “Thank you for continuing to broadcast the one-hour-long service. The words of the hymns are an encouragement and blessing along with the messages by Charles Fuller. As a child, I heard the broadcasts each week and still think of certain hymns as the ‘Old Fashioned Revival Hour hymns.’ Praying for you.” From time to time we receive a phone message from a blind lady (also in Oregon) who says that OFRH is immeasurably helpful and that she loves the old songs. From Otego, New York: “I listen (too) infrequently on station WJIV. I enjoy the classic songs and messages. Thank you for sharing these recordings.” How encouraging it is to hear from such friends and supporters!

Finally, dear friend – my wife and son and I have been unmistakably called to head to East Africa in late March for three weeks to lead a team to a remote area in order to provide much needed dental care never before known there. We want the people there to see the love of Christ made manifest in a practical and indisputable way that will powerfully draw these precious ones to Himself. Only the Holy Spirit can accomplish this as we yield to Him. Would you please pray for safety and for the Lord to make Himself known through our availability to Him?

Thanking you for your fellowship of intercession as we prepare to go,

Michael Khanchalian, D.D.S.
