July 2018 Newsletter

Hello, beloved friend –

Last month I wrote about how easy it is for us to get lost in the difficulties and worries that life brings our way – and the importance of shifting perspective to the wondrous faithfulness of our God and Savior. Developing this further, I’d like to direct your thinking to the third chapter of the Book of Colossians where Dr. Fuller will take us for the last two broadcasts in July.

The Apostle Paul calls us to keep seeking the things above: an active, continual choice – looking in the mirror of God’s Word at the garments we’re wearing. There’s a list of ugly things to take off before we can don the beautiful garments the Holy Spirit offers as we walk in the light. Even (and maybe especially) when our circumstances are painful and discouraging, we are to actively “put on love, the perfect bond of unity” as we purposely allow the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts. Thus our lives become a witness of “Christ in us, the hope of glory.” Praying your light (His light) will shine on those He chooses to bless through you this month!

From Yakima, Washington:From Marshall, Texas:just moved to the Denver area. One way you are blessing others is through your prayers and financial support for OFRH. The following short notes give testimony to that fact: “I listened to OFRH with my mother who rarely missed OFRH on Sunday afternoon. The time is short. We must be eager to get God’s wonderful saving word out to the lost and to help the saints. I listen on the internet.” From Coeur D’Alene, Idaho: “Thank you for keeping the real Gospel to be broadcast. I especially pray for you to be heard in the prisons.” And from a couple who listened in Spokane, Washington, for many years: “We are both in our early 80s and have “How I appreciate the wonderful music and message. You really inspire my faith! Recently I had cancer surgery, but I am getting better every day. Your music on the broadcast is perfect for lifting the spirits.” My daughter got me a smartphone. Now, praise the Lord, we can listen anytime we want. What a blessing! I remember listening while growing up. God bless and continue to use you.”

Well, dear friend, we really appreciate such encouraging comments, but we need to hear from more folks who can help keep OFRH on the air. In June we entered our 17 th year of re-broadcasting these gospel programs, so let me urge you to make a special summer contribution in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Fuller. They, having “fallen asleep in Jesus,” are still bearing fruit for Him. What joy can be yours in being part of this ongoing work of faith. And something else that may add to your joy is the featured CD for July. It’s “Gospel Favorites, Volume 5.” There are 28 songs – half by the choir and half by the men’s quartet. None of those songs are found on any of our other CDs. And all that music can be yours for just $16.50 (but if you live in California, it’s $18.00 due to sales tax).

Resting in the faithfulness of God,

Michael Khanchalian, D.D.S.
